Holly Jolly Christmas Tag!

Heyyyyy blog lovers :)

I was tagged by Jenmurphyxx8 on YouTube to do the Holly Jolly Christmas tag but unfortunately I haven't had the time to film so I decided to do in in a blog post...obviously ;)

I don't feel very Christmassy at the moment which is upsetting, I'm not hearing many Christmas songs and seeing many lights even though my house is all done up and it's really pretty! I suppose I haven't really been out shopping really! I just feel like it will be over before I know it, which is upsetting :(

Anyway..let's get down to business!

1. Favorite Christmas Movie?
I haven't watched a Christmas movie in years but I'd say The Santa Clause was my favourite when I was younger!

2. Are you on the Naughty list or the Nice list?
Bit of both I'd say! More on the Nice list :)

3. Show us an embarrassing Christmas Card photo! (WE KNOW YOU HAVE ONE OK)
I don't! Really! My parents never did that shit, thank god!

4. Have you ever had a White Christmas?
Yes! Last year and possibly the year before..and there were one or two when I was a kid too :)

5. Where do you usually spend your holiday?
At home in my house. Usually we get up and open presents, we used to go to my Nana's house but she's in a nursing home now :( I miss that :(, now we go to my aunts house (Dad's sister) and spend some time with her and my other aunt and my cousins and second cousins, then we go back home and have dinner with my other aunt on my Mom's side and her family :) It used to be my Dad's two sisters came for dinner but now they go to my cousins house. They usually come over after dinner.

6.Play or Sing your favorite Christmas Song!
I can't now cos this isn't a video...I probably wouldn't even if it was to save myself the embarrassment :D I love 'Last Christmas' by Wham and of course 'All I Want For Christmas Is You' by Mariah Carey, but like Jen, my favourite has to be 'Fairytale of New York' by the Pogues:

7. Do you open any presents on Christmas Eve?
No! Never, I like to have as many presents as possible to open on Christmas Day, I like to save them so the excitement is almost unbearable :P

8. Can you name all of Santa's reindeer?
I'm not going to be a snake and Google it, I really can't! The most I can think of are: Rudolf, Dancer, Prancer, Cupid, Comet, Vixen, Blitzen? (That could be totally made up!) I think I did fairly well!

9. What holiday tradition are you looking forward to most this year?
Christmas dinner!!! Mmmm my parents are fantastic chefs! And Being around family! And on Christmas Eve when me and my Dad and brother go shopping and then to the pub after and my Mom and aunt meet us there and then I go to another pub with my best friends! So much to look forward to!

10. Is your Christmas tree real or fake?
We usually just have a fake one but my Mom just decided to get a real one this year! I looove it, it smells gorgeous and looks way better!

11. Hands down, what's your all-time favorite holiday food and holiday sweet treat?
My Dad's potato stuffing for sure! And my dad puts butter and thyme on the carrots at Christmas it's unbelievable! In terms of chocolate etc I love Snowballs! They have to be the really gooey creamy ones though!

12. Be Honest: do you like giving gifts or receiving gifts better?
I love receiving presents, just like everyone else but being completely honest, I prefer giving them because I feel so good about myself, I feel generous and I absolutely love seeing people happy with what I got them! The only thing is though I'd love to have more money to spend on my parents!

13. Show us your tackiest Christmas attire (ex: Ugly Sweater)
I really honestly don't have anything! All I have is a Santa Hat which used to light up, not the most exciting!

14. What would be your dream place to visit for the holiday season?
I would hate to not be at home in Cork for the Christmas season! It's our tradition and I would be really upset not to be at home on Christmas!

15. Does your family have a special holiday recipe you like to help make?
Not really, my dad makes his stuffing and carrots like I mentioned but I don't help to make it.

16. Are you a pro-present wrapper, or do you fail miserably?
I wouldn't consider myself a pro, but I am really good at it! I love wrapping presents so much that it just makes me want to buy more and more just so I can keep wrapping!

17. Most memorable Holiday moment?
I have loads of Christmas memories, my parents have always spoiled me on Christmas day and I usually always got everything I asked for, I am so grateful for that! One year when I was like 5, the year my younger brother was born, I used to love playing house and I 'really wanted my own baby' so I could 'mind my baby' while my Mom minded my brother! I also had a strange obsession with microwaves and I asked Santa for one...(Weird right) When I went down to the living room on Christmas morning, there was a full size toy kitchen with a little microwave on top and there was a little 'high chair' at the back with a little doll sitting in it which I could use as my 'baby'! <3
Another memory I will never forget, we used to have a different tradition when my Granny was alive where all my cousins would come to her house and we would all have a huge dinner and open our presents from each other afterwards. I remember leaving dinner and going into the living room to find my brother and my cousin (they were about 2-3) and they were after opening all the presents! I was so upset over it, still haven't forgiven them...haha!

18. What made you realize the truth about Santa?
I can't remember exactly how old I was but it was the usual way of someone in school finding out and it spread across the classroom, I don't think I was too upset about it.

19. Do you make New Years Resolutions? Do you stick to them?
Yes I do!! I'm so bad for that! I make loads and I never stick to them, I love new beginnings so I always plan to change alot in the New Year, it never happens! this year, I plan to make more realistic ones, and stick to them!

20. What makes the Holidays special for you?
Being around my family and just being happy!

So that's it! Hope you enjoyed! I tag everyone Jen tagged :)

Happy Christmas everybody! Hope you have a fantastic few days!

Irish Vlogger/Blogger Meet Up in Dublin Citaayyy

Last Saturday the 17th of December, I went to Dublin to meet up with some of the Irish girls who have YouTube channels and blogs. Unfortunately some of them couldn't make it, but for those of us who did make it, we had a great day!

Me & Milli met Sarah at the bus stop and got the 9a.m bus to Dublin where we first met up with Laura, we then made our way to Salamanca tapas bar on Dame St, the other girls started to arrive shortly after, all lookin' gorgeous :) I think all of us enjoyed the lunch, the food was great but the service wasn't the best, the waiter was not impressed when we asked if we cld make changes to dishes on the menu, just small things like no tomatoes or no mushrooms, apparently 'it would ruin the taste' if we didn't get the dish with all ingredients included. Leanne is a vegetarian and when she asked for her pasta to be served with no chicken, his response was 'there is a vegetarian dish on the menu'! One singular vegetarian dish!! We all got what we wanted in the end so it worked out fine, it was very inexpensive too :)

After lunch, we went to Inglot in Jervis St. Shopping Centre where we were each given a little goodie bag, I got an eyeshadow duo which I am very impressed with :) The other girls got other things like single eyeshadows, eyelashes etc and everyone got a voucher for a complimentary makeover.

My Eyeshadows.

We then went to Forever 21 and Brown Thomas but Dublin city was really really packed as it was the last Saturday before Christmas so there was no point really trying to shop, however I did but a French Vanilla Candle which smells amazing and a MAC lipstick in 'Myth'.

French Vanilla Candle.

MAC - Myth (Satin)

Then most of the girls went to Dandelion for cocktails, Me an Milli went to Penny's instead because Milli wanted to shop and I was looking for a pair of shorts, we shouldn't have gone though it was a waste of time. I thought we would have got to go back to say goodbye to the other girls but I didn't realize how far away Pennys was so we didn't :(

So then we met Sarah at the bus stop to get the bus at 6p.m, it said on the website that there was one at 6p.m but when we got there we found out there wasn't one til 7p.m, so we went to O' Briens to sit down. We then got the bus at 7p.m and didn't arrive to Cork until 10:45!

All in all it was a great day and it was lovely to meet the girls in person, they're all lovely people! Here is a little vlog of the day, sorry it's not the best, it was my first vlog, Leanne has a better one if you want to check that out! All the girls will be linked down below!

Sally Hansen Airbrush Legs Review.

Here's an updated review on my favourite tanning product of all time: Sally Hansen Airbrush legs. Here's the video, and below, a summary review for those who don't want to listen to me!

- Instant, spray on sunless tanner.
- Dries in less than a minute.
- Designed for legs only but I use it on my whole body and it works fine.
- Contains no SPF.
- Apply with hands or a tanning mitt, spray and rub evenly over skin.
- No streaks when applied correctly.
- Does not completely cover blemishes, but lessens the appearance significantly.
- Waterproof, will not run in rain/swimming/spilt drinks but if rubbed it WILL come off.
- Washes off with soap and a cloth/sponge/loofah and warm water.
- Available in Light Glow, Medium Glow, Deep Glow & Tan Glow.*
- Available in most drugstores/supermarkets.
- Cost approx €12/€15 but can be found in places for €9/€10.
- Small amount of shimmer.

* Light Glow - Very light, slightly pasty.
Medium glow - Slightly yellowish but very nice result.
Deep Glow - Bronze/brown slightly orange, my favourite shade.
Tan glow - Similar to Light Glow, a small bit darker!

Hope this was helpful!

And The Winner Is.....LITTLE MIX!!

So I know this post is a few days late but how EXCITING is it that Little Mix are the winners of X Factor UK 2011!!

I love these girls so much, when I saw them perform together for the first time in judges houses I was kinda like...what the fuck is this? With their mis-matching outfits and just complete diversity from each other. But over time, throughout the series, I fell in love with them, everything about them, they are amazing! They're so different from everything else that's out there at the moment, and they're so REAL! I love how they're all so close and love each other so much, it's clear that it's not for the cameras and for votes, they really are very close.

And then there's Tulisa. Who I HATED for the longest time. When she started out in NDubz..I couldn't believe what I was seeing, she could clearly sing, but she just looked so rough and unappealing. When I saw that she was on the judging panel for this years X Factor I was shocked...I thought to myself 'are they for real' but I was SO wrong. She really blossomed into a gorgeous, inspiring, classy woman throughout the series, and she was so dedicated to all of her acts. It was disappointing to see Nu Vibe and The Risk go so early in the competition but it turned out to be a good thing, as Tulisa got the opportunity to put so much work into her masterpiece that is Little Mix.

The first time I realized that I was totally in love with Little Mix was when they performed 'Don't Let Go' by En Vogue. This is one of my favourite songs of all time and they sang it brilliantly, they had the ultimate girl power during that performance, from the vocals to the outfits, it was spectacular. I even voted for the first time ever!

I was delighted to see them perform it again in the final, it definitely was their performance of the season!

I don't know if I was surprised to see them win or not, I'm just delighted that they did win. I feel terrible for poor Marcus though, he is fabulous, I really like his voice but I wasn't the biggest fan of his performances, but that's just because it's not my style, he was still brilliant every week and he really deserved to be in the final. He's gorgeous and his accent is adorable, I love how he's so happy and cheerful all the time I have never seen him without a smile. He will go far I hope :)

I'm over the moon for Little Mix and Tulisa. The moment they were announced winners was so emotional. It's obvious by their reactions how little they expected it and how much they appreciate it. I really hope they are the new Spice Girls, we need something like that right now! Even though the Spice Girls are irreplacable to me *cheeese*

In relation to the Winners single, honestly I preferred Marcus' version, there was more emotion and it just suited him better. Little Mix did do a great cover though.

However, I just don't think this is a song that can be covered. It only sounds right from Damien Rice, it's a classic. I don't think it should have been chosen as the winners single and I don't feel it's right to commercialize this song, but if it helps Damiens' career I suppose it's a good thing for Ireland ;)
I'm going to put Damiens' version here because to me, it will always be HIS song.

Aaah that song always makes me teary!

Anyway I'm sorry if you're not an X Factor fan, this is just a once off...until next year anyway!
Highlight of this series ENDING? Not having to hear Gary say 'Hangggg On'...sweet jesus sooo annoying!

Hope to hear more from Little Mix soon!

How To Get Red Hair!

So this is what I used to get my hair this shade of red which I love.
And just as an F.Y.I, I did not dye my hair this colour because of Rihanna. I specifically waited until she dyed her hair a different colour. I don't even like her...well she's ok and her music is very good but she wouldn't be my fashion/style/beauty icon!

I enjoy having red hair because I like to have an interesting hair colour. I love dark hair and I sometimes get temptations to dye my hair dark again but I feel it's too boring and also very hard to change when you get sick of it! I can't be blonde over all the dyes built up in my hair (and it doesn't suit me that well either) so red was my only other option really and I LOVE it :) I can imagine myself staying this colour for a long time!

If you want it, just go for it! You can always change it if you don't like it :)

P.S: Be extremely careful when using bleach!!

Good luck!
